I had hoped to update the IWM site frequently whilst in Austria so that I could share my experiences of this fascinating wine producing country. Unfortunately I had woefully underestimated the cost of ad hoc internet access ($22 per 10 minutes at the last hotel) which rather put me off.
And whilst I have loved my time here, it does put into perspective how far the Kiwi dollar goes abroad.
I shall wait until I return to NZ this weekend and post my tasting notes (hopefully) on our newly updated site. Web designer Ben has been working hard and come up with a clearer and more easy-to-navigate site.
In the meantime a photo, taken in Bratislava, of what looked to me like an extra from LOTR. Apparently two suitors were fighting for a girl's hand in marriage so to decide, she asked both to build her a house. This little fellow was carved by one to look up the street and keep an eye on the progress of the other.
